about ava hill
“One day you finally knew what you had to do and began…”
Mary Oliver, The Journey
She is a survivor, a boss lady, a woman on a mission and Miss North Dakota International 2019. Ava Hill is a believer that one random act of kindness can’t change the world but one act of kindness can change the world for someone else. As a suicide attempt survivor and a worldwide ambassador for The Peyton Heart Project, Ava plans to make a change in the lives of others one heart at a time.
Ava began her partnership with The Peyton Heart Project in 2016 and is the first worldwide ambassador to be from the state of North Dakota. Her Platform, The Peyton Heart Project: Hearts for hope has reached over 20 states and 3 counties, and she has personally made over 10,000 hearts. Not only does Ava dedicate her time to The Peyton Heart Project but she is a dedicated volunteer for American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. Ava has attended Out of the Darkness Walks across the state, raised thousands of dollars for suicide prevention, and has advocated mental health policies to multiple mayors across the state and Governor Doug Burgum.
As if she’s not busy enough serving her community, Ava is also a business owner. She is a professional multimedia makeup artist and started Ava Hill Artistry at the age of 19 after graduating from Faces etc. of Minnesota. Since graduating she has had the opportunity to work on many feature films, TV shows, and commercials receiving many awards along the way. She prides herself as an educated artist who works in any medium from glam to gore.
Coach, is one of Ava’s favorite titles. Ava is going on her 5th year coaching her former team, the Kindred Vikettes. This team includes grades 4-12 and many of the varsity members she has taught since they were the age of 4. She not only enjoys watching them grow as dancers and become champions in the process, she has enjoyed being a part of their lives and watching them grow into incredible young women.
In her free time, when she has it, Ava enjoys spending time with her family, binge watching Netflix (especially Supernatural), and snuggling with her cat Pringles. You will never see her without a cup of coffee in her hand or not in high heels and she always has a book or two in her purse.
Ava is excited for her year as Miss North Dakota International 2019 and can’t wait for the journey ahead. She is eager to continue representing The Peyton Heart Project on a national level and to partner with with International Pageant’s national platform American Heart Association: Go Red for Women.
